Immune to Botox? Try Hypnox!

Though few people realize it, Botox, a hugely popular cosmetic treatment for frown lines and wrinkles, doesn’t work on everyone. The procedure uses the botulinum toxin, marketed as “Botox” from Clostridium botulinum to accomplish the effect of paralyzing specific facial muscles responsible for causing wrinkles. Botox is injected into target areas of the face to achieve a more youthful appearance. The popularity of this anti-aging treatment has overshadowed the fact that some people are actually immune to the toxin and experience no significant change in appearance following injections. Indeed, some individuals have significant changes with their first dose of Botox, but then on their second, third, or perhaps fourth treatment, start to experience less of an effect.

Unfortunately, many doctors don’t admit to the possibility that some people are immune or slowly develop immunity over time to Botox. Patients who are not able to reap the benefits of Botox are just out of luck. Though there are other anti-aging treatments like injectable fillers that patients could try if Botox doesn’t do the trick, some patients are trying “Hypnox” as an all-natural way to diminish fine lines and wrinkles. Hypnox is a self-hypnosis audio recording that claims to flatten out frown lines by coercing the subconscious mind such that Botox results can be had without Botox.

You may be thinking that a 25 minute audio recording could not possibly accomplish the same kind of age reversal possible with Botox, but hypnosis is relatively powerful stuff when implemented properly. Plastic surgeons regularly use hypnotherapists to put patients into a trance during surgical procedures. Hypnosis can take the place of sedation in these cases, or at least significantly diminish the need for it. Patients who were put into a trance reported an overall better experience during surgery along with greater satisfaction overall. Most patients, if offered sedation in conjunction with hypnosis, tended to use far less of it as a result of the trance state.

But still, is hypnosis potent enough to take years of aging off your skin? If you’re not sold on Hypnox, you could always wait for newer treatments dawning on the horizon. A radiofrequency treatment known as “Relaxed Epressions” or REX, that works by injuring tissues using heat is not yet widely available, but becoming more popular. It uses a procedure that is similar to Botox, but without the botulinum toxin. The procedure is FDA approved, but it isn’t in use by very many doctors yet.

In the meantime, it wouldn’t hurt to give Hypnox a try as a way to retrain the muscles in your face. The CD’s are affordable at only $25 compared with Botox which costs anywhere from $125 to $400 per treatment area. Hypnox has an advantage of Botox in that the results, if there are any, will be permanent. Hypnox can be used as part of a sleepy-time ritual to relax not just your face but your entire body and even while you sleep, Hypnox is supposed to be doing its magic, relaxing facial muscles and thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles all over your face, not just in targeted areas.
